Yup folks, you heard right. I'm going Dell. There's a brown box in the corner of my office about to be opened for my new computing platform. Here's to (hopefully) super-reliable computing going forward, and thus higher productivity. Onwards and upwards!
P.S. Please don't tell Eric. Shhhh! I'll never hear the end of it.
Michael's Books
... How shocking! ;^)

The thing I've been most impressed with Dell is there support. I have a laptop from them that had several problems with the keyboard. Each time I called, they had someone on location to fix it in less than 24 hours. On location was sometimes my house, sometimes work, and once a hotel room when I was traveling.
This was the biggest thing I missed when I switched to a Powerbook. I feel like I have to have two machines in order to have a backup if something goes down.
Even with that shortcoming I feel like I'm a whole lot more effective on OS X than Windows or Linux, so I'll put up with the inconvenience of two laptops.
Good luck with your Dell. :)
