Hi Mike -

I think Jabber Inc's scalability announcement was prompted by Coversant's (www.coversant.com) recent announcement of 250,000 concurrent XMPP/Jabber users on a single HP Integrity running Windows Server 2003. They are clearly feeling some pressure.

Coversant's solution does not yet cluster so it can't bring together several machines to hit the 1 million users yet.

Be assured that once it does that Coversant will beat Jabber Inc. in the over 250,000 user category as well as 250,000.
