Holy moly! Congrats! It blow my mind why IBM doesn't do stuff like this.

Since this was out of left field, I assume this was not something you applied for. So do you really consider yourself a "exceptional technical community leader" for OCS? I'm not saying you're not. If you are than congratulations you fully deserve the title. If not though, this is just another example of how MS counts such a large number of partners. I'm not saying that is wrong of them, more power to them. Like Bruce, I'd love to see us (IBM) doing more for our partners... but I'm not sure simply increasing the numbers is the best approach.

Chandima

Congratulations. Look forward to OCS posts on your blog ;-)

Michael Sampson

@Bruce ... I agree entirely. And you should be such an award winner with IBM.

@Alan ... no I didn't apply for this, and yes, I'm surprised by the product I was awarded it for. Maybe this is a case of fundamentally different strategies in play ... Microsoft keeping its enemies close vs. IBM ignoring its advocates, eg, Bruce. You of all people should know that I've been harsh on Microsoft for years.

I totally agree that Bruce is a Lotus all-star and someone that deserves a TON of thanks from Lotus. I've done what I can over the years, promoting OpenNTF at every chance, including references in all my presentations, etc... but I'd love to see recognition from the higher-ups and in more public forums. Perhaps we can create a Lotus-MVP program, I can't think of any negatives in treating your advocates nicely!

MikeE

Congrats Michael... must be all of my conferences you are speaking on ;-)
